Cardiopulmonary Services (CPS)

Cardiopulmonary refers to the health of the heart and lungs and how the health of these organs contribute to health & wellness. Cardiopulmonary services are generally referred by a provider. These services can help patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, heart disease, and other conditions that are affected by blood oxygen levels.The Cardiopulmonary Department at Dorminy Medical Center provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for both inpatient and outpatient care.

Cardiopulmonary Services include:

  • BIPAP, CPAP
  • Arterial Blood Gas puncture & analysis
  • Nebulized medication therapy
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Sleep Lab
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Bronchial hygiene
  • Oximetry (continuous or spot check)
  • MDI instruction & support
  • Pulmonary Function testing (pre-post bronchodilator, FVC, DLCO, FRC, TLC, etc)
  • EEG testing
  • Incentive Spirometry
  • Aerosol & humidity therapy
  • Holter Monitor application & analysis (24" & 48" monitoring)
  • Event Monitor application
  • Stress testing

Dorminy Medical Center is committed to providing diagnostic care for patients at risk or diagnosed with mild, chronic or acute respiratory and cardiac diseases. Our CPS team is certified or registered in Respiratory Care by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBEC) and has a current GA Respiratory Care Practitioners license.

Patients that have been diagnosed with asthma, emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), angina, coronary artery disease, heart attack and other conditions benefit from the care of a Respiratory Therapist. Cardiopulmonary Services include a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic services to patients with heart and lung disorders. Respiratory Care Practitioners or Respiratory Therapists deliver medications and other therapies to patients thus improving the patient’s ease of breathing. DMC Registered Respiratory Therapists focus on educating you and your family on what to expect during and after testing, including the community resources available to help you cope with your condition.

Stress Testing: 8:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday
EEG: 8:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday
PFT Testing: 8:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday
Sleep Studies: 8:00PM - 6:00AM, Monday - Friday
